Thanks

First off, I would like to apologize for not posting, but it's been hectic. So now for my post.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving when the Indians and the Pilgrims got together and ate a bunch of food. There has recently been a turn of events in my life that has made me realize that  I have so much more to be thankful for than I am. You know, sometimes you just take things for granted.

For 8 years, my siblings and I have been fortunate enough to have a private gym teacher, Ms. Karen, who comes to our house to give us a class. We jog and do push ups and "harder stuff" for a while and then we play a game. Miss Karen's husband was just offered a job. Now, I am happy for Mr.Otto but this job happens to be in Oman. Now you can imagine my distress when my gym teacher that I have known for ages and that has been such an inspiration and incredible influence in my life is moving to Oman.

So this Thanksgiving, I realized that everything changes in life. This year has been a year of many changes for me. And this one will be the hardest for me. When Miss Karen told me over the phone I nearly dropped it and as soon as she hung up I burst into tears. Then she came over to have class with us and I burst into tears in front of her. Miss Karen and I have been together for years and in all the years I have not once seen her cry, not even when she pulled her hamstring right off her bone. And when Miss Karen (almost) cried silently, this made me want to cry harder but she told me to stop.

So this Thanksgiving count your blessings because they can disapear within a five minute call.

Miss Karen leaves in January and I'm going to enjoy every single class I can with her.

Don't just count your blessings tomorrow but always think about how fortunate you are. Even if you don't have much you still have these three things.
1. Life
2. Someone who loves you and or all your fingers
3. A computer to read this blog.

Thank you,
Sophia(even though this says Maria T. Its really me I was to lazy to switch users.)

P.S. Miss Karen if your reading this I love you verrrry verrrrry much!!!!

Short Poem of Night

Gloomy dusk

Filled with fears

Thrusting blindness upon us

Dreams of peace

Nightmares of despair

With glittering stars of hope

Randomness from the Random Queen's sister

I'm too sleepy to write a coherent post.

1.  I got a Blogger update.  It's cool.  And silver.  I like silver.  It has nice buttons or whatever.  I like the nice buttons or whatever too.  I feel sophisticated.  I like feeling sophisticated (unless it involves doing my hair.).  I like my updated Blogger dashboard.

2.  Golly, Kurt Cobain looks so much better blonde.  And Kurt Cobain is pretty near the top of my list of attractive rockers.  Courtney Love was pretty too.  Please people, plastic surgery is not the solution to you emotional problems!

3.  I saw the coolest bug today!  It was the cutest caterpillar ever! I wanted to hug it to my chest, except its adorable fuzzines would burn the skin off my body.

So I did not hug it.  I just looked at it.  Which was not too easy to do, because it was getting dark, and I forgot to put my glasses on...

3.  ...Which brings me to I forget EVERYTHING.  Yes, I forget my math homework.  I forget the capital of Georgia, I forget dates, I forget to put my iPod away (four little munchkins with itchy little munchkin fingers... need I say more?), I forget where I put, oh, I don't know, everything I friggin' own.  The only stuff I remember is deemed useless.  Like last Thanksgiving, when my cousins Mark, a photographer, and Rosie, a lawyer, came.  We were driving them home from the airport, and we pass by this grocery store chain called H-E-B.

"Rosie look!" Mark says, "They have a place called Heb!"

"It's H-E-B, Mark," says Rosie.

"Heb sounds cool.  Ooh, Heeb sounds better!"

"You can't call it Heeb, Mark," says Rosie, "That's like calling Vons Vans."

"H-E-B is stupid.  Heeb is awesome."

So we ended up going to Heebs H-E-B and you would have thought we were going on a field trip!  We lost Mark every five minutes.  We found him talking to this lady passing out free samples.

"So you're getting married this Saturday?" he asks Sample Lady.

"Uhu."

"So do you have a photgrapher?"

He honest to goodness asked her that.

"Oh God," said Rosie, pulling me away.

Ahh, that was a good Thanksgiving. Twelve people were crammed into our tiny house, and I had to use my laptop to watch The Great Gatsby because the TV was hogged, of course, and I ate too much, but I always eat too much for Thanksgiving.

It was awesome, man.

So now I guess this post is long enough.  Right?  God, I hope so.

The Power of Truth

The Cage

I am a bird. I am a captivated bird. Spending my countless days, frantically roaming around my cage, scoping out an escape is what I do best. My deepest desire is that my owner just inserts the key, and opens the door.

It was a Tuesday evening, my parents had already fallen asleep and the unsupervised darkness screamed of trouble. My brother and sister were lounged around on the sofas, brainlessly watching television, I being myself, was wandering around the kitchen, digging for a midnight snack. After I had found my pot of gold, I needed a silver spoon to match. I suppose I was picky to the extreme where the one fork I wanted was dug under numerous pots, dishes and cups placed in the dish rack. In my attempts to release the fork, it hit a pot, knocking over a dish, slightly tapping a small vase on the counter. Unfortunately, this vase was so slim that it toppled over, hitting the larger vase beside it. The two vases hit the flour and smashed into a million fragments. The larger vase was a family air loom passed down to my mother by her grandmother. At this point, Josette Bird is worrying about the time spanned of her imprisonment.

In the morning, when my mother had asked what the loud noise was, I attempted to convince her that it was nothing more than me clumsily falling on the ground. Josette Bird has now crashed into the metal cage walls. She is able to pick herself back up and, slightly damaged, continues to waltz around the cage. My mother believed my false story until the afternoon when she saw a few stray pieces of glass on the flour, ordering an explanation. I had to come up with something instantly, so I told her that it was nothing more than a dish that had fallen. Josette Bird instantly rams right into her prison bars. Mom believes this portion of my tangled web of lies for no more than two hours. The vase was very important to her. Therefore, it didn’t take her long to realize its disappearance.

I was in an extreme predicament. I had to come up with something on the top of my head. So, of course, I blurt out the only thing I can possibly think of, “Andrew did it!” My brother is younger than me so it was believable. Sadly, Josette Bird has just had a terrible accident and has fallen on her head. She is near her death. I am free for the rest of the day. But, the next morning, my sister’s ignorance ruins it all. She asks my mother, “So are you still upset that Josette broke your vase?” From here on out, there is nothing more I can do. I must confess my mistakes and speak the horrid truth to my mother. Josette Bird’s owner has decided it is unfair to keep her crammed up, tortured and stressed in her tiny confined cage. The owner opens her cage and sets Josette Bird free. Later on that evening, my mother informed me that she was very upset, at first that her vase was gone, but she was recovering. She was, however, still upset that I had lied immensely to cover up my wrong doing.

Honesty is one of the few things in this world we have full control over. Each individual has the power to be truthful or to be a liar. It is our choice of how we use this delicate power. We just need to keep one thing in mind. Birds deserve to be set free and so does the truth.

Can Wait For Dinner

So you probably read the title and said,"Oh, she probably means can't wait for dinner." But no, I don't. My Dad is probably thrilled about dinner, but I am this close (holding up my finger to indicate an inch) to becoming vegan. You see, I don't like to be reminded of what I'm eating when I'm eating it. I would like to think it was never alive but that won't be so easy tonight. Why, you may ask? This is why.

That is a Red Snapper from the far off land of Costco. This is what has my sister considering switching from a vegetarian to a complete vegan and me never eating a fish again. Which really stinks because my favorite food is sushi. So, just to make it worse, this thing has eyes that were staring right at me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still clinging to the miracle that my mom goes with Maria's idea and throws it in our pool. Even though I would never swim in it again its better than this.

So tell me about the worst dinner your family has ever had! I am now curious. One of the worst lunches I have ever had was made by yours truly. I put angel hair pasta in the water before it was hot enough and it got really mushy {Editor's note: Mushy does not describe the mess it was}. So I was like, "No biggie! There's plenty of tomato sauce and there are meat balls that will mask the taste!"

My brothers wont let me make them pasta anymore.

And other news! My mom is feeling better so don't loose hope in the volcano! I am building the structure! I would of blown this off but a) I already said I would and b) Someone by the name of Amanda wishes to see the volcano go BOOM! So Amanda I will get it to go KABOOM! by the end of this week unless I die from swine flu. Which really doesn't seem all that bad considering I have a German test this Friday. Who gives kids a test on Friday the 13th??? But MountMarveloddity will go boom!

Thank you,
Sophia

The post that I was supposed to post a long time ago...

Actually, I already did this. But I accidentaly erased it. So it's here again, for your enjoyment.

A few words before you listen. You have to be deep to get it. So please, be deep, let me know what you think, and go. Go, friend Sir Hathaway on Myspace, become a fan on Facebook, all those social utility sites that I don't use. Please, and thank you.

Part 2: Green Cars, Funerals, and Mint!

Let's get straight to it, folks!

You write quite a bit about vehicles in your blog. Do you have any ideas over “green”

cars that can be built in the future? What would your ideal car be?

I think green vehicles will be the technology of the future, and that, in some decades,

we will only see ecologically friendly vehicles in the streets of developed nations.

There exist many people in the world that are worried about this, and I think that when

ecologically friendly vehicles become more accessible and safe, people will opt for

“green” cars. The world needs a lot of help, what with all of the pollution and extinction

of plants and animals every year.

Do you have any heroes? And if you do, why are they?

Yes, I have some heroes.

I have three heroes: Richard Branson, Bill Gates, and Dr. Temperance Brennan (the

fictional character of Bones).

Richard Branson is my hero because he has a great personality and always tries to be

authentic. I think authenticity is a very important virtue. It’s fantastic to me that he

donates so much money and that he's creating his own pollutant free island: Necker

Island. He’s a very exciting individual and I really like him. I assume you know who

he is. He’s the president of Virgin Group (with Virgin Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin

Space, and all the other Virgin brands). I’ve listened to him several times and he’s

always inspired me, or, at least, made me laugh.

Bill Gates is my hero because I love computing and I believe he’s one of the most

influential people in the world. I think what he’s doing for the world is very important:

all his contributions (of millions of dollars) which collaborate with our planet are very

important.

Dr. Temperance Brennan is my hero because I love how she works and acts in decisive

situations. Besides this, I love the series and I think her character is very important to

the show.

I’m not sure if I should ask this, because it tends to offend people. But I think it’s a

very interesting question! Have you ever thought of your funeral? How do you want it

to be?

Yes, I love to think about my funeral, in fact, I’ve even considered being a forensic

scientist at some pint. Well, in reality, I would rather never die. I would like to live

forever. I have too sweet a life to think of dying. But I do believe in God, and I know

that one day, we will all die, unfortunately. But, I don’t want anyone to cry in my

funeral, and for everyone to be happy, because I think I’ll be okay.

Since Argentina is one of the most cultured countries in Latin America, I’m sure you

will go to college. What would you like to study? What do you hope your contribution

will be to this world so in need of help?

Actually, I don’t know if I’ll go to college here in Argentina. I would like to study in

Europe or the United States. I would like to study something related to technology,

because it is fascninating and still growing- I think I always liked it, and computing has

given me much joy and many friends.

I hope that my contribution to the world will be the best that I can give. In some years,

I expect to create an organization to help autistic people and another to help ecology. I

think it’s necessary that we as teenagers realice that society and nature need us.

Tell us something we don’t know about you:

I’m addicted to chocolate and mint!

He didn't get offended at my funeral question!!!! He's actually thought about it!!!

Can you hear me say kindred spirit?

Postpone

I have to postpone the volcano my mom is sick and I have no mentos or sprite. But it should erupt this week I hope.
I apologize for the delay but the interview we had with Brian is being posted today as soon as my sister (MT) wakes up! So that's something to look forward too!

Thank you,
Sophia Kamel

You guys can breath easy now.

So I'm back. Unfortunately, because I hadn't had my fill of fun, but it's good to be back home. I was not on vacation, FYI, I was at a conference. This one to be precise. (Sophia-She doesn't need her fill of fun I do, she should of stayed with me and gone to see The Box with me, the more important one.)

*Update* Sofia vandalized my post before it was even finished. That's sisterly love for you. I was not on vacation, I was working. I barely had time to go to the bathroom or eat, let alone relax. It was awesome though. I met a lot of wonderful people, learned a lot about the music industry, and now have a better understanding of inspiration and art. And Sofia would not let me forget that she was angry at me for leaving. There was not one time I called when she didn't answer with the following:

"Offices of the Abandoned Sister, how may I help you?"

Not even on my flight back.

Seriously, man, this comes to show how much people need my company. Or my tech support. I'd like to think it was the first one.

She is back!

My happiness has been restored; my sister is back! This makes me very happy so I think I may go and buy an insane amount of mentos, sprite, vinegar and baking soda. I am going to make a foil volcano and throw in the baking soda and mentos, then I am going to take a liter of sprite and have MT take the gallon of vinegar and pour it in!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will also post the video. Cant wait, now I need to go get mentos and sprite and baking soda!

Thank you,
Sophia

What Will MT Say?

I am now trying to imagine what MT will say to me when she comes back from her trip and takes a look at the blog. Either she will praise me for taking care of it while she was off on vacation and neglecting her duties, or she's going to flip,"Oh my God Sophia, do you know how many celebrity pictures you have on here? Were not a celebrity blog!" Well I just have to wait till 2pm today to see.....

Funny pic of the day------> I'm still trying to figure out what a peacock and Batman have to do with each other?

Celebrity With The Wierdest Wardrobe

So you all know who this is. Yes, Lady Gaga. Personally, I'm not a fan of her or her music in fact I thinks most of it is just perverted. But I have to say she does get props for the creativity she puts into her ridiculous and wacky wardrobe. Even though it's all ugly.

Cacaw! Cacaw I'm a crow!
She's a Zorro wannabe.
Wearing a bow is lady like, not wearing pants is trashy.
Its a button on her head. I would of never done that, see creative but ugly?!
I think she cut of the other half of her dress?
What is this?
She's a volcano.
I dont know what this is but its really ugly.
I remember him from Sesame Street.
Argg I'm a Cullen!
Preforming at the VMA's with an interesting choice.
Isnt she hot in there?
More braids!
Thanks,
Sophia!

This is why your Fat (More like obese)

I got these from a website called thisiswhyyourfat.com And let me tell you there was so much worse. So this is why people are fat, but the more I thought about it I decided this is why they are obese.

This is one of the monstrosities you will see today. I will tell you more about it later.

The Twinkie Casserole, sweet on the inside sweet on the outside and capable of killing!

Twinkie Sushi! Now this one was kinda cute.
I'm not sure what that is but its disgusting. Now you want to know whats more repulsive than the supper fatty pizza burger thing? The people in the back round eating it.
Now this one is called the quadruple whoper! And look it comes with fries! So the heart attack you get after eating it will be fatal too!
Calories, calories and more calories!
This one didn't look that bad until I found out it was stuffed with snickers.
The Peanut butter french toast. that thing is bigger than her waist, well not for long.
So these may not look that bad but they're really cookies with nuttela and heavy cream and ice cream and chocolate fudge and I don't know about 5,000 calories?!
This is green tea ice cream wrapped in pound cake and deep fried. Now you see I love green tea ice cream. But this has ruined the health factor for me.
This my Friends El Nino there is supposed to be a squiggly thing over the second 'n' but I don't know how to do that. So this is a pizza with ground beef, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese.

This is a hot dog wrapped in a tortilla deep fried and topped with mayo. Yuck.
The hot dog infused with cheese and then deep fried.
A deep fried chocolate cake with heavy whip cream and syrup.
I honestly don't know what that is but it looks disgusting.
The Doughnut Ice Cream Cake. See all the doughnuts in there?
The marshmallow chocolate pizza.
See this one was the least horrible its just strawberry cheese cake in a cup.
This thing is really repulsive so I'm not going to even try to guess whats in there.
French toast with snickers and marshmallows.

The bacon infused onion ring.

OK that's it you can go to thisiswhyyourfat.com to see more but my stomach wont take much more so thank you and stay away from foods that look like this because odds are they will kill you.

Eat safely,
Sophia

Food to eat-Cesar Salad with a panini!

Food to avoid at all costs- Anything above.

I Did It!!!!!!!!!

So have any of you noticed that when you crack an egg the yolk always comes out whole? Its never broken it's always whole. Well for a while Ive been trying to crack the yolk inside the egg because that just amuses me. So today I tried again! And I failed. But I tried with the second egg and IT WORKED!!!!!!! This may seem stupid to you guys and trust me it is. But it was fun and distracting and when you read more your going to see why I need to distract myself.

So on a more interesting topic, my sister abandoned me.(That is why I need a distraction) Yes that is correct Maria Teresa left me. She hoped on a plane to a place met up with my cousin and hopped on another plane to a place with my Grandmother and Aunts and an Uncle and about 5 cousins.

So that left me with 3 amazing friends(actually four but one of them was also to young to go)! Maeve , Candace and Ximena! And that didn't go as planned. So Maeve's parents went to a place and she stayed with someone and spent mornings with me but it just so happens that the day after my sister abandoned me that she goes to visit her sister! Now I'm not mad at Maeve I'm mad at my sister.

So that ruined my plan of going to see The Box with Maeve so I call Candace but to bad for me she's busy. And Ximenas to young to see a PG-13 movie so that leaves me with zero options. So I call a friend I haven't seen in ages and she doesn't answer her phone!

So I went with my Mom which was really fun. And let me tell you it was an awesome movie! So in the end it turned out great! But I'm still mad at MT.

It thank you for letting me vent! Not that you had a choice but thanks.

Sophia

Song to play!- Fireflies by Owl City

Song to avoid- Honestly I'm not sure so just don't listen to Green Day or things that may ruin your innocence. Because other than that I'm stumped. Hmm... lets see....yeah Ive got nothing.
