Can Wait For Dinner

So you probably read the title and said,"Oh, she probably means can't wait for dinner." But no, I don't. My Dad is probably thrilled about dinner, but I am this close (holding up my finger to indicate an inch) to becoming vegan. You see, I don't like to be reminded of what I'm eating when I'm eating it. I would like to think it was never alive but that won't be so easy tonight. Why, you may ask? This is why.

That is a Red Snapper from the far off land of Costco. This is what has my sister considering switching from a vegetarian to a complete vegan and me never eating a fish again. Which really stinks because my favorite food is sushi. So, just to make it worse, this thing has eyes that were staring right at me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still clinging to the miracle that my mom goes with Maria's idea and throws it in our pool. Even though I would never swim in it again its better than this.

So tell me about the worst dinner your family has ever had! I am now curious. One of the worst lunches I have ever had was made by yours truly. I put angel hair pasta in the water before it was hot enough and it got really mushy {Editor's note: Mushy does not describe the mess it was}. So I was like, "No biggie! There's plenty of tomato sauce and there are meat balls that will mask the taste!"

My brothers wont let me make them pasta anymore.

And other news! My mom is feeling better so don't loose hope in the volcano! I am building the structure! I would of blown this off but a) I already said I would and b) Someone by the name of Amanda wishes to see the volcano go BOOM! So Amanda I will get it to go KABOOM! by the end of this week unless I die from swine flu. Which really doesn't seem all that bad considering I have a German test this Friday. Who gives kids a test on Friday the 13th??? But MountMarveloddity will go boom!

Thank you,
Sophia

Oh, what could have been...

Ever since she was three my sister has wanted a turtle. And ever since she was three, my sister has had to wait for the baby of the time to grow up, because turtles carry salmonella, and salmonella is dangerous especially to babies who put anything and everything in their mouths, so long it fits (and trust me, a lot fits).

My sister is the second of six kiddos. Once a baby turned two, it was too late, she had to wait another couple of years because there was already another bundle of sunshine on the way. This happened 1, 2, 3 times, because when baby number five turned four, God decided he wasn't finished yet, and David made six. So that's a few more years to wait for that darn turtle.

Every once in a while, when Sofi's angry, she pulls out the broke turtle dream.

"You promised I would have a turtle! You promised! I do everything you ask, and get nothing back! And I can't take it any longer, I'm moving to Denver!"

She hasn't yet, by the way, put she's threatened us with that one since she was six.

Anyways, my sister's temper tantrums are not the subject of this post. We were talking about the turtle.

So, as I was saying, she's wanted on for a very long time. Imagine my surprise when I found one fore her yesterday! I big beautiful snapping turtle!

I was riding my bike, and I heard my dog barking at it, and I didn't know what it was, so I went and checked and it was sooooo cute! And I saved its life!

Isn't it adorable!

Honestly, I was already imagining my life with my brand new pet, and playing with it, and giving it baths, and painting its fingernails- er, claws- purple, and reading it stores, and putting it to bed! And I had already named it (Godiva, after a turtle in a book I read) when my mom asked me what I was going to do with it.

"I'm keeping it!"

And my mom asked me in very motherly terms if I had suffered from amnesia the past twelve years of my life.

But if there's anything I like more than keeping, it's giving. And I say that with all honesty. I could hardly wait to give it to her. She was actually at a meeting (yeah, she works) so I had to wait four hours for her to get back. Four hours. I was torturous.

When she finally got home you know what she decided? After barely looking at it you know what she decided?

She decided to return it to it's natural habitat.

What the heck?!

Since when is she the mature one?! That was totally my line, that's always been my line, and I threw it to the wind to make her happy!!

Yeah, yeah, it was the right thing to do, and the turtle was kind of vicious, and it did have inch long claws, and it was trying to escape, and it did look like she hated our guts, blah blah blah.

So now, Godiva the turtle is off in the wild somewhere, hopefully reunited with her turtle family, hopefully not ripped apart by a coyote.

So that was what happened. I learned that my sister is an ungrateful wretch more mature than I will ever be, and that turtles stink, man! They really smell awful.

So that was my good deed of the month, so now you guys know that I am officially not doing anything nice for a while. So don't ask any favors, or I'll move to Denver.

I think I want to be a dragon...

When I was younger, I spent my days wishing I was a mermaid. Forget that I'm terrified of deep water and sharks, but Ariel was my role model and Eric was my future prince (which wouldn't be the classiest move on my part, but whatever.) I gave up this dream when I was five and realized I could not grow a tail.

This guy did not.

Now, I will admit that my aspirations aren't much more practical nowadays, and they probably won't make me a lot of money, but I fully understand that since I was not born a mythological creature, I am not meant to be one. I'm not screwing around with reality, man, because it's a waste of time (like, right now, I should be doing homework).

Kitty Madison was born a two legged man. But he thinks he was meant to be born a imaginary different species, and a she. Cuz mermaids totally beat out mermen.

"When I was 15, I saw the film "Splash" ... I still long for the experiences Darryl Hannah had. After I saw the movie, I had just one dream: to try and live my life as a mermaid. To this day, every time I see "Splash," I have to get to the water. That's where I find my peace and home."

I saw the film "Splash" too, when I was four. To put this simply, my mom was out and my dad was in charge. After I saw the movie I had just one dream, too: to erase the mental image of Darryl Hannah's butt ingrained in my innocent mind.

I find my peace and my home on land, but hey, I don't discriminate. Beaches, pools, showers, they're all great and relaxing, the first one being the exception during spring break.

"...When I became Kitty Madison, I bought the same tail that Darryl Hannah wore in the movie. Orange with glitters, custom-made for me."

I can say with all honesty that the preschooler in me is very jealous. Why can't get a custom-made mermaid tale?! I deserve it! My room is clean and I make good grades!

"I feel so much love for life as a mermaid that I would give up my real life. I really love my boyfriend, but if he tries to make me give up my life as a mermaid, I would choose life as Kitty Madison the mermaid."

You tell him gurl!

Randomnessssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!

OK, this is about randomness. I am going to go from one topic to another.

A. Why don't any of you comment? I feel like nobody reads our blog! So if you're reading please comment!

B.Why are people so stupid?! I mean, sometimes I just want to shove them under a rock and leave them there forever.

C. Why do people find Edward/Robert attractive? He is scary ugly! He scares me.

D. What do you think about Courtney Kardashian's birth choice? I was proud of here for keeping her baby. And it would of been ridiculous not to. I mean, have you seen that family? They're all sooo pretty and imagine what a lovely baby you would be killing?!?!

E. Did you know the average goldfish has the memory span of three seconds? You probably did not.

F. Lady Gaga is yucky she seriously disturbs me. *ugh shudders*

G.I like that song by the White Tie Affair, "Sick and Tired(candle)"

H. Why do people curse? I mean, whats the point? All you do is disturb or bother people around you. Plus, you add time to your confession.

I.What era would you rather been born in? Medieval times? Early 1900's? Oh or the 80's? No not me! I like this era! A/C , T.V, movies, cars, houses! SO MUCH BETTER THAN BEING A SERF IN SOME MUDDY MEDIEVAL SETTING!

Well l that's it for today folks!
Thank you,
SOFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII (I just wanted to do that)
